a green phlegm hacking yuck monster of a microscopic germ has invaded and temporarily taken up residence in my body. the wiley virus is partial to my head and lungs and has whipped my mucous glands into working overtime...

i got sick at the end of the week so i was on the couch all weekend. that's just crap. i always like to get sick at the beginning of the week (usually due to excessive weekend activities) and lose a few work days, get rested and ready for the weekend! at least my buddy spencer (the cat) hung out with me the whole time. that was pretty cool. we had fun napping and eating. a cat's life is so great.

rant:

i missed a couple of good parties but got to see a lot of teevee and movies. i had read the roger avary interview and rented "rules of attraction." it was great. i can't believe the geniuses in the motion picture industry promoted this film as a teen comedy. when i saw the commercials and trailers i could not have been less interested. but it was excellent and weird and artful and deep and was billed as 'the star of dawson's creek in another dumb boozy college sex romp.' much like "punch drunk love" was released as another happy gilmoresque adam sandler flick. i wonder if these people ever see the films they sell or if they only notice the starring credits! geesh. so irritating to confront stupidity at such high levels where these decisions are made.

i'm glad i got that off my chest. speaking of my chest, it's still a wheezing factory of hacking goo so i skipped work today! yay! unfortunately, i feel like poo.
