I agree that pit-bulls have the capacity to harm. And I agree there are lots of douche-bag owners across the world. However banning the bred is not the solution. Perhaps tighter laws on dog control and punishment for irresponsible owners. Many breeds can harm people, but bad people teach the dogs due to their dumb ass dog fighting gambling "sport". I think in this supposed land of the free we shouldn't be making a family with a kind pit-bull in an area get rid of their family friend. The people who breed dogs to fight will continue to do so with anti dog laws or not. People will still get hurt. Dumb solution.
