I'm watching a bee crawl across a sidewalk.
I'm watching a squirrel navigate, acrobatically, through shade trees just breaking into leaf.
Are those things?
I am actually doing nothing at all. Contemplating my navel. dabbling with poems.

I have finally learned to relax.

i just read a very poorly-written novel about Andersonville.
I stuck it out because it was well-researched and the story itself is quite compelling.
Now I'm reading Jim Harrison.
I like him because he's wise, witty and honest, and has a graceful prose style.

I tried to write an essay on murder and mayhem but gave it up.
I walked by a lawn full of wild onons on the way here. The lawn was quite small and surrounded by a shrubbery. One of those old houses with a big porch. I was glad to see they had left the onions alone. They're blooming all over town, at least the parts of town I get to. I don't feel much like picking them for food.
the soil is probably contaminated.
I stopped by the open mike I usually go to last night, when it was almost over. Gypsy girl made me get on stage with her so we could read Bukowki poems. She's wildly enamored of Bukowski. It was a fun little experience.
Then she talked about wanting to see horses running free in the wind.
lolablu:
You should tell your Gypsy friend to read Joy Harjo, if she hasn't already.

That's because it's the best word ever.

I don't know if you've ever heard Sleater-Kinney, but the lyrics in the past two days' posts are from their songs. Their music is really beautiful, I recommend them to everyone.
