What I do, see, when I see a particularly attractive or even interesting girl, instead of going to meet her and figure out what she's all about, I create an entire persona for her. Right there from where I stand (or sit), from my own personal island. Likes, dislikes, her favorite band, pet peeves, even problems, though they're always cute and manageable ones. All carry-on baggage, nothing to check.
As a result, 1) I've fallen in love with fantasy, and 2) I've yet to actually meet any of those girls I find particulary attractive or even interesting.
But it's safer this way. The current object of my affection is probably a lesbian in real life. But in my head, she loves naps and will sing along to Hot Snakes in the car. So there.
