i bought "bowling for columbine" yesterday and watched it with collin tonight...
i'm just...torn...
part of me wants to move to canada just like i did when bush won/stole the last election.
the other part of me...i dunno.
i'm just THAT much more shocked about how much the media dictates the popular opinion of the people in this country.
it's just plain fucking sickening.
at times it made me embarrassed to be an american.
at others, it made me embarrassed of my fellow americans.
over all, it just made me think.
the film offers no solution to the many problems in this country, it simply asks you to THINK for yourself.
to see as many sides to a situation as possible before choosing sides.
it had an enormous impact on me and i'm pretty sure that's the idea behind the whole thing.
sometimes i wish i could convey my feelings into words...but right now this the best i can do.
goodnight.

damnit, i should've called so we could talk about this movie. when i saw it i felt the same way. it actually sort of ruined my evening, it upset me a lot. it's disgusting, and dissapointing, and it makes you feel absolutely fucking powerless to make any sort of difference because it seems like the problem is so big and so engrained in our countries psuedo-culture. (i don't think america has any culture of it's own, besides this sort of thing, which is just plain fucking sad)
anyway doll, I hope I'm not too cut off, maybe we can talk tonight????? smile hope your work day was good.

That movie kept me preoccupied for about 3 days after seeing it. I need to see it again. I just remember feeling so torn between wholeheartedly agreeing with Moore's viewpoint and seeing it as just more propaganda, albeit for the side I agreed with. The interviews with Heston and Marilyn Manson were brilliant, though.

Yeah, definitely need to see it again. whatever
