OK, two shows down, now we just have the rest of the world to conquer! Riiiiight.
Anyway, the first shows went better than expected, the club in Houston kinda sucked as I couldn't hear myself at all and so I ended up with a shredded throat to try to sing through the next night in San Antonio. Shit, I wish there was something like Sin 13 in Austin, that place was really cool. It's obviously a goth/dance club primarily, but it has a great stage and the sound man was cool as shit and the equipment was actually GOOD! I know that one member from SG saw us in Houston, but I don't know if anybody else came out, nobody admitted to being a member of a porn site at the show, so if anybody who was there reads this, step up now and tell me what you thought. It was amazing to me to see kids singing along on a couple of our ORIGINALS on our second show. I expected some kids to get up and sing for at least one of the very few covers we threw in, but I was floored to see kids screaming words that I wrote back at me, that gave me the biggest thrill. We stopped on the way back from the first show and picked up a little souvenir at a store in a little nowhere town and used it as a stage decoration for our second show....heh heh heh, it was hilarious, even more so because nobody got it but us. Imagine an old school hard core punk band flailing away on stage with a HUGE banner behind them that boldly proclaims "WE GOT MILK"....sheer brilliance....or something like that.
On another note, the FRIGGIN holidays are over, the New Year has come, we're all still here having survived the whole mess, time to relax. Well kinda....I'm really sick of my shitty assed job. Does anybody in the Austin area know of a cool place that might be hiring? I've done a little bit of everything and don't mind doing something new. In my illustrious life of crime, I have been.....
a porter at a transmission shop,
a fry cook,
a sweaty guy in a friggin panda suit carrying little kids birthday cakes,
a 7-11 clerk,
a guy at 7-11 who does everything a manager does except get paid appropriately,
a sandwich maker in a kosher deli,
a bookkeeper in a grocery store,
a sales chump in a well known mall shop,
a guy attempting to tell morons how to use computers over the phone
and some other stuff even less worthy of mention, if you can believe it. So yeah, anybody in Austin who works someplace cool and it happens to be hiring....let me know, PLEASE!!!!
