When we ask for advice, we are usually looking for an accomplice.

So, today I decided to show my two cousins some of the sites of Philadelphia. First stop, the Mutter Museum at the Philadelphia College of Physicians. The collection is self-described as "fluid-preserved anatomical and pathological specimens, medical instruments, anatomical and pathological models, memorabilia of famous scientists and physicians, and medical illustrations in various formats." For me, it was very, very interesting (and sad, because I kept thinking about the people and families behind the fetuses in jars; the stories behind the skulls).
After that, we kind of cruised around Old City, etc. for an hour. Your typical Philly affternoon: Cheesesteaks, Liberty bell, Independence Hall and the sketelons of various fetuses from the 19th century.
TONIGHT: The drinks are on me, if you come to
Doc Watson's Pub to hear my housemate's band play (and if you can find me - I'm the one with all the sperm in his hair).
I am going to West Virginia tomorrw to hang out with a friend who likes to race cars (NOT HotWheels, but the ones that cost more than some houses). I don't really get into racing, but I like it when I get to ride along as a passenger for a few laps (after signing away all liability for death or injury).
(one) goal for this week: Put up an actual picture of me.
