reading
I keep waiting for you to look up

I look around the room
everyone has somewhere to go
except me
everyone looks so busy in there business
like the parts of a watch
moving with such percision
it's getting closer to the hour
but I still don't have anywhere to go

I see you tilt your head
pull your hair behind your ear
you look farther away than you really are
I wonder what interests you
You cross your legs
I see a flash of skin
just enough to keep me interested
you look up
our eyes meet
i smile
you smile back and go back to your reading
but you shift in your seat
and you stop tapping you foot
you turn the page
it was more fun when you didn't know I was watching
