Sitting at work wasting time.
Taking tomorrow off to drive up to Oakland to spend Xmas with the family.
Looking forward to it.

The fool speaks --
"What is this thing called love?"
The spirit is weak yet the heart still beats,
hot blood coursing through pallid veins,
veins of a hollow shell,
that only lives in your light.

What is this thing that torments me?
When I look on my pillow with fright
another night with empty arms
and the vision of you,
laughing in their grasp...

I have a novel published. eeek

It is starting to sink in.

There is the website
Nevermind: The Last Temptation of Frank

But Fri. I got 50 of those suckers. Nothing like having the actual product in hand to hammer it home. How bizarre to hold a book of your own words in your hands. I have produced a dozen albums or so and when those...

Thanks for the werd.
My advice - www.iuniverse.com
I had a literary agent shopping my book for four years.
Nothing.
Not surprising though. The publishing industry is hurting.
My book is never going to be mainstream.
The main character is a stoner eeek
There is new publishing-on-demand technology that came out a few years back that is finally stabilizing. For a relatively small fee iuniverse.com adds me to their catalog after I upload the material to them. That gets you an ISBN number which means that any bookstore can find your book and order it. You are responsible for the PR. There is a decent royalty arrangement with the publisher. If you are looking for a publisher to pick you up and do a media campaign. You bettter commit a heinous crime or something because the only unknown authors that are getting picked up are the ones with some kind of name recognition. At least with iuniverse you have control over your marketing strategy. All you need is a little initiative.

Sad about the friend. THus is life...
I don't know what last email you misread. Refresh my memory? wink
johngalt:
Thanks for the condolences.
The whole misread thing is not worth rehashing but for the sake of clarity I will publicly embarass myself once again.
I sent you an email inviting you to the art show on Haley.
You responded saying that you were actually at the show, but some how I read it is a though you thought I was trying to fuck with you so I got all defensive. But then a couple days later I reread it and it occured to me that you were just saying how peculiar it was that I invited you to an event that you were at. That is why I am a dork.

Words look weird when you type them over and over, too.
temptess:
Hahahahahahaha! I just got your email, and funny enough, my roommate/bestfriend is kind of dating one of the artists and I was there. Now I'm 'fraid. This is all getting a bit too weird!
