Well I'm finally back from Bolivia for spring break from visiting family. It's not that exciting, this is about my fifth time down there, so it actually gets somewhat tiring after a while. But anyway, moving right along. It was great, much better than the last times I've been there, until wednesday, when i started running a fever of 102.8 and had to go to a lab and a doctor and we found out I had salmonella. Apparently I was 12 hours away from hospitalization, which also probably means I wouldn't be back quite yet. Just as well though, since in trying to come back the bad weather in atlanta delayed and cancelled about half of Delta's flights there for the day. We were lucky enough to get put on standby on a flight out of Miami and made it as far as Atlanta until our flight home got cancelled, then we got put on standby for an earlier flight that oddly enough wasn't cancelled yet, but then at 1:30 in the morning that flight too was cancelled. Soooo, my dad and (my mom and brother didn't come) ran all over the airport trying to see if we could get our luggage and when the earliest flight would be etc. Then ultimately, my dad decided that we should just drive on back since it's only 4 hours by car. So we drove. Left the utter madness that was atlanta at 3:30 in the morning, and wow was I tired. Finally got to knoxville, returned the car, got my dad's car, he drove me to my dorm, arriving at a brisk 8:00 in the morning after having woken up at 3:00 am the previous day. Then he drove the other hour and a half home alone. I went to class. I'm still taking my 500mg dose of Septicide (a very strong multi-spectrum antibiotic) as a precaution, but I feel a lot better and haven't been contagious for a while. Life goes on. The weather outside is great and I have a book I need to be reading. So off with me.
