Same job, but looking for a new one.

Short hair, but still the same goofy guy.

On the hunt for a new job and the outlook is fairly good considering that my attitude remains positive.

I miss being closer (geographically speaking) to my family. I moved away from my hometown about three years ago and it feels like I'm light years away from them despite only being an hour's drive from them. To compensate for my departure, my sisters seemed to have taken up the slack. Both of them moved closer: one of them for a brief moment and the other on a more permanent basis.

My parents' health is continuing to deteriorate, my mom with her back issues and my dad with just about everything else. He can barely walk and when he manages to get to his feet, he shuffles around. His blood pressure has dropped so much, that from time to time he becomes unresponsive and my mom has to call the EMT's. He loses his appetite which doesn't help because he's also diabetic and he needs to keep his blood sugar up. A doctor diagnosed him some time back as being in the first stages of both Parkinson's as well as dementia. A phone call this weekend didn't show much promise and it seemed as though his dialogue was scattered and incoherent. We still managed to goof around as we usually do when we share a dialogue and that was the upside.

I have to watch my parents get old, and the man I thought was Superman most of my life is withering away in front of my eyes.

So... on the bright side... I have a couple of music shares because I simply can't bear to get through things without some tunes.

I'm sorry your parents aren't doing all that well. And I do feel your pain when it comes to distance. In my case there's alway a little bit of a guilt that I can't be there for them, and I suspect it's the same for you.

How is the job hunt going?
