In the zany novel Just Ruthless, two office workers unwittingly become the stars of a reality television show.

Best friends Adam Stockton and Chris Gomez work at a typical cubicle-oriented office, spending their spare time making obnoxious jokes and snide remarks. But what they dont know is that they are actually the lead characters of a reality show, having been voted in as finalists by the viewers.

Victims of their own ignorance, Adam and Chris are the only two in the entire company unaware of their circumstances. Its not long before some rather strange things begin to happen. Money suddenly materializes in their wallets, and drop-dead gorgeous women become their girlfriends. With the show only being televised overseas, Adam and Chris remain blissfully unaware of the truth and continue to live it up for the unseen cameras.

The shows executive producers hopes that Adam and Chriss newfound success will drive them into hard, rockstar-style partying. Instead, Adam and Chris slack off even more and dont even bother to go to work. In a last-ditch effort to save the show, the producers spice things up a little more.
