So last Tuesday was Vish's birthday and he turned 30!!!! Yay...On a bad note it was his birthday and we got into a horiffic car accident on the Major Deagan around 7pm. We were driving in his car on the middle lane on our way to Jersey for me to finish up paperwork on a new car I just purchased, when a silver Nissan Alitima rammed right into the passenger side in which I was riding. All I remember is thinking that we were gonna flip over into on-coming traffic and die. The car that crashed into us ended up slaming us agaisnt the left concrete divider of the highway and dragging our car several feet until we came to a stop. When the ambulance got there, I was crying quietly and not moving. I remember them asking me if I was hurt and my voice telling them that I don't think so and that I don't feel any pain. It wasn't until later that I realized I was hurt and had to go to the ER. I ended up having a torn ligament in my left knee from my knee hitting the gear shift. I also sustained a sprained neck and shoulder injury. All of this I didn't feel until about an hour after the car accident. Vish had a chest contusion from hitting the steering wheel. I didn't go to work for the rest of the week and have been doped up with painkillers, of which I feel are losing the effect to mask the pain. My boss and some of Vish's friends are telling us to sue and giving us all kinds of phone numbers of whom to contact but since we haven't gotten the accident report we really don't want to do anything. We're not the suing type and we still don't know what happened to the other driver to have caused the accident. All I know is that we ended up causing traffic on the Deagan for about an hour with one lane open.
I'm hoping the driver that hit us is physically ok and that we find a civil way to straighten this whole mess up. Vish's car is pretty much totalled.
As for exciting things happening in my life... I think I can stand for some boring stuff now.
Anyway, anyone have any similar situations?????
