I'm hoooommmmme! The adventure's over, as Mr. Burns said to me last night, "the prodigal son's returned." Or whatever. He's returned to sunny/pretty DC w/a raging head cold that's migrating down. It's weird, I was lying in bed last night thinking, "you're really relentless for someone who has a cold..." this was after 5 celebratory bourbons. The sun's glowing around my curtain. Going to rush out.
These last few days have really got me waking up early. Something I don't really do, unless you consider early 12 or MAYBE 11. Was up at like 8 again and back to sleep and then 10. Now I think I'm going to walk down to the vegan bakery Sticky Fingers and see a friend, although I've got that shitty body ache coming on that comes from a cold. Maybe grab some DayQuil (mmmm....) and some OJ. I refuse to let this ruin it.
I told you I was going to document my dreams and definitely had some doozies last night. As I slowly opened my eyes this morning I saw them retract, like the tide rolling out and tried to catch a last look but it was too late, daylight and reality covered them like the next breaking wave.
But it did involve me having a VW microbus and my sister's ex from when I was in high school following me around -- maybe he was still trying to get that guitar back that he gave to me. But I think I got down in my microbus with you or you or maybe you or some other you, I can't remember. I do remember is was fleeting, like whatever was happening I knew it was tenuous.
Music is pouring out of my brain, that's a good sign. Unfortunately it was happening at the Black Cat while some combination of the really bad band in the next room and Devo on the jukebox were happening. Gonna be like Lionel Richie and keep the tape recorder in the shower so I can whistle "Hello" or whatever and capture the moment and make a million or 2. Ummm...yeah...

Drink whiskey..hot tea with whiskey is good, take some Echinacea (take the ones with vit. C if you can find them) and zinc.
