Who says you can't go home?

In a little bit more than 72 hours I will lay my head down in a room I've never stopped thinking of as mine.

I had the hardest time calling this place home. I guess that's because I never really felt at home here. And it's been a good visit. I've learned some things about myself and what I...

It's been a few days, but I'm kind of in this holding pattern here. So y'all haven't missed much. biggrin

On Saturday morn I roll out with a good friend for Santa Maria. We'll spend the day and night there, then I'll go Greyhound into North Hollywood on Sunday afternoon. The next few days are just filled with a few odds and ends before I leave....

Well, in fifteen days I make my way back to Los Angeles.

When I first made this decision part of me felt defeated. I had come up here to make it on my own, to try to finally break out of the rut I've been in. It's been only six months and I'm heading back to the comfort of family and friends.

But there's nothing...

I felt the same way about moving back to New Orleans. On the one hand, I felt a little defeated since I know so many people who move away only to be forced to return, but on the other hand, Tulane was the best choice for me financially and academically (or at least at the intersection of the two). I guess the difference is that I still miss the West Coast and would like to return as soon as my PhD is done. good luck, man.

Well folks, looks like I'm headed back to Los Angeles. Things up here just haven't worked out for me financially, and so I'm headed back to the support of friends and family. I do love the land up here, and even some of the people, but I guess I'm an Angelino at heart.

Best of luck to ya. Good luck heading back to Southern Cal.

All right folks, I could use a little help.

You regular readers may know I'm moving to the Oakland/East Bay are of California. I've been in retail for the last eight years of my life, and am thinking about a career change. I'm going to go back to school, and work on becoming a teacher of some fashion or another, but while I'm doing that...

"I hurt myself today
to see if I still feel

I've spent my whole life wanting to be someone's hero. Wanting to take away someone's pain. Their fear. Their problems. But I guess I can't do that.

Hell, I can't even take care of myself some days.

And a lot of my friends are intelligent, articulate people. Well educated, well read, insightful folks. They can turn a phrase on a dime and give you nine...

I have a really good friend who lives in the Walnut Creek area. I go over there every now and then to have him keep my computer in good working order. Whenever he answers the door he has a purple mouth from drinking wine, then I know I'm in for a long night....plus he has ADD, so that doesn't help.

Sometimes taking on too many bad emotions, lost struggles, and deep hurts can bring those demons to your door step. You must first keep yourself clean, free of negativity, and strive for rightiousness before you can rub off on someone, before you can shine and have impact. Always lend an open ear, and always leave on a positive note.

Take care
