This is my 100th post. I guess I can celebrate the fact that I've stuck with this for as long as I have. Not since high school have I been so good about keeping a journal, and at least with this blog I'm compelled to write every so often. I've tried to make it every day, but that hasn't always worked out. I've kept at it though. Hopefully that's a sign that my other ventures will be as positive.

I'm typing this while connected to the WiFi network at the store. I'm sitting in our cafe, enjoying a strong cup of coffee (mmm... espresso shots), having finished my work for the day but in no real hurry to get home. It's been a long time (more than four years, I'd guess), since I've just sat in a bookstore, enjoyed the atmosphere, and watched the people here. I'd say I've forgotten what it's like. Very relaxing. I'm barely even tempted to think about work and my department, and I'm sitting here in my own store. Those of you who know me better are understandably amazed. No wonder people love our stores so much.

I think one of the things that has made blogging easier than keeping a written journal is the ease of editing. I don't like to write in pencil, but putting pen to page is a permanent sort of commitment. Here I can edit as I go, and fix mistakes without leaving evidence of them on the page. It appeals to my AR/OC nature, and saves on paper to boot.

And posting here has helped me collect my thoughts better than I have in the past. Perhaps because I can go back and read them. I still feel I spend a little too much time thinking and talking about things before actually doing them. Got to try and get past that. Journeys cannot be undertaken without that first step.

"It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to."

And yet...

"Not all those that wander are lost."

I guess I've enjoyed my wanderings of late. I wonder, why are we all in such a blasted hurry to get somewhere. Certainly, I'd like to be earning more, and starting on a family and a home, but those things will come. I'm pointed towards them, and even if I meander from the path every so often, I'm still headed that way. But over the last few weeks I've forgotten there's no rush. They're are other experiences to enjoy. Other things to sing praises about. All this worry and fuss over something that seems to be occurring with only a little impetous from me is just a good way to give me ulcers. More of my fastidious nature I suppose. It's not that I want to reach my goals as fast as possible. It's that I have a need to have an orderly plan towards them, a checklist if you will, that I can nattily check off when I reach certain markers on the road. But I always have the most fun when I stray. Even when I turn completely round to look back, I eventually set myself aright again, and make my way further down the road.

Thanks for stopping by and being a friend. Silverwolf signing off.

Enjoy your wanderings.
