You know, I run into so many people, in the real world and out here in cyberland, that are doing something wonderful with their lives. Something that really contributes a positive and lasting effect to the world around them. Teachers, nurses, poets, artists.
It's enough to make a guy feel really inadequate.
This is not a cry for pity. I know I've contributed something during my time here, and I'm sure those I care about would say the world is a better place with me in it. But sometimes I wish I had something tangible to show for my time, for the hard lessons I've learned, for the scars I bear on my heart.
Then I remember this all just somebody else's dream anyway. And I feel better.
