Sometimes there are no words.
Forgive me if this one rambles a bit. I'm exhausted and hung over.
I was going to post some more of my regular banter today. And maybe vent some more about still being stuck in LaLawood. But a dear friend of mine that I only talk to out here in the unreal world learned that a friend of hers died in a car accident last night. Her IM was up so I went to do the usual chat thing, and she laid it out for me quickly.
Sometimes there's nothing really to say. Someone gives you this bit of info that's going on for them, that's more real for them than most things ever are, and all you can say is, "Oh my God that's horrible." Or "oh, no." Little space fillers because the space just got huge and needs to be filled, but there's almost nothing meaningful you can give them right then.
Later they may want to talk about it, or cry about it, but right at that moment, you don't really exist for them, because something else in their life has gotten so big that it pushes everything else out.
Sometimes there are no words.
