Four days left.
In four mornings I start the drive to Fairfield. I've been thinking a lot about it the last couple days. Almost every minute it's been on my mind. I've come to two conclusions.
I'm not going to miss LA one bit. There are some parts of Southern California I love, and will visit again, but the only things that will bring me back to Los Angeles are family and friends. This place is no bueno if you like the outdoors, real attitudes (as opposed to fake bs), and positive vibes. And I'm talking about all of LA county here.
Sure, there's some great food, and great art of all kinds, and you can find about anything you could ever want (legal or illegal) here. But the place is dark and dirty, and trying to pretend that it's not. Most of the people here are like that as well. Not everyone though, which leads to my second conclusion.
I'm going to miss my friends a great deal. There are some folks here I've gotten to know really well, some I wish I had spent more time getting to know, and some I've just met who will be in my heart for the rest of my life. Someone recently commented that I make friends easily. This is actually not so. People like me without much effort on my part. At least in a friendly sort of way. But if I've called you a friend, it means I actually enjoy having you as part of my life, and want you to continue to be there. And I'm going to miss the lot of you.
Btw, if I've given you my email address, or asked you for yours, you're someone I consider a friend. I don't just hand that out.
In four nights I hope to begin a laugh filled with trees, good wine, much writing and photography, actual seasons, and the laughter of a beautiful little boy. I wish you all could be there for it.
Thanks for stopping by and being a friend. Silverwolf signing off.

Your journal really sums s. cal up pretty well. I'm originally from down there (west LA, El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Temecula). My Dad is still in Temecula area. I much prefer northern california. The attitude is laid back (in a more real sense).
Your most humbling moment is sad.
Nice to meet you.
