Crazy family stuff is happening. A dumb cunt has taken a restraining order out against my 78 year old Grandmother. i doubt she even understands what it means. Not that she's senile; her mind is still as sharp as ever. Her command of english just might not be enough to grasp what exactly happens with a restraing order. Her husband of 25 years (actually, i suppose it's her boyfriend since they never married) had a heart attack, which has left him very weak, and mentally fuzzy. Now his family is trying to push her out in order to make sure they inherit his "fortune." Said fortune being a rundown farm house worth next to nothing. My mother and aunt are both with her now, trying to get her things out of the house. i'm afraid someone will say the wrong thing to my grandmother, causing my aunt or mom to beat them to death. As an added bonus his loving family has been withholding his heart medication, and they've been threatening him and screaming at him until he's in tears. He's been begging them to take him back to a nursing home he was in during recovery from the heart attack. Apparently, the nursing home had people dying in the hallways and people laying in their own shit. He wants to go back to that place rather than be left with his family. Even though he and my grandmother have been together 25 years, my grandma has no legal right to say what should happen (Illinois has no common law marriage laws.) She's returning to Az, knowing that she's leaving him there to die.

Fuck.

Maybe you can help your grandmother contact Legal Services in your area regarding tenancy law. She may have rights to the property despite not being married to her partner. It's worth checking it out because they may come up with an angle for you.

Good luck, and I'm sorry to read about your family's situation. It's very sad.
