I went last night for their private party and I can't fucking believe it. It's a little slice of NYC right here in town. No art for me for just a little bit longer. My financial situation could not get any worse. I have no job. I am going on a four day vacation to california. I am out of love.
And I get an offer. A casual offer. I can live on one of grandma's pieces of property on the Oregon coast, rent free. Do with it what I will. I don't think Texas is done with me yet. But I am at a cross-roads. The only good thinking about leaving will do me, is put me in the mindset where I have no fear of what people think, and I have no fear to ask them the difficult questions. Time for change for the better regardless.

That is absolutely the way of it. Being unavailable - that impenetrable barrier - allows them to throw as hard as they like, because they know nothing will happen. It's like pressing your face against the glass of an aquarium holding a poisonous snake that you wouldn't get within ten feet of in the wild.
