Perspective and memory are crazy devices. Hearing the other side can shed more light upon yourself than any long introspective meditation could ever do...sometimes. in a way I feel I've been given a window. A window into myown past and to those around me. I feel like tonight was a gift, a marker in my life in which i could point to and say hey look this is when such and such thing happened. or Maybe its just that Ive listened to the loosening of the tongs, from alcohol. in the end all i can say is life, in its most complete understanding is just as confusing to us as a single moment in a series of correlating events. That is to say the search for understanding, the knowledge of both self and world in any kind of unifying truth, is impossible no matter how many rivers Siddartha might cross or watch there is still something unknown to us. And that something might just be the truth...if there is such a thing.
