The pther day I was invited to my old high school friend Mel's house for a BBQ. When I got there, Mel's husband Dave and 4 other people were there and they wanted to talk to me. It felt like I was there for an intervention or something ;-) Mel basically asked me to come over because her husband Dave and his friends wanted me to join their cover band. They want me to play guitar and share vocal duties with a female singer. I was skeptical because I didn't know what kind of cover band they want to be. So for about 5 hours we sat there and came up with a set list of 40 songs we could all play. The setlist is a pretty good mixture of classic rock, alternative, punk, blues, pop, funk...and yes country. So I guess I'm in their cover band now. We'll be playing at Mel and Dave's house until we get some weekend bar gigs. This should be fun.
