ehem. ladies and gents...I have a very important announcement...
I'm going to CUBA!!!!!!
I am so excited. I leave in exactly 49 days. You see...my mom had a trip to Scotland planned for May 25th. She calls me this morning and says..."I really don't want to go back home...let's go to Cuba!"
uhhhhhhh...suhweeeeeetttttt.
We were supposed to go the December after September 11th....buuuuuut you can probably guess why we opted not to. Anyway...I can't contain my glee. I want to do cartwheels 'n stuff.
I've been reading all this crap about how visitors to the country are basically NOT ALOUD to associate with native Cubans.
"In a sense, visitors are in a state of limbo: Although they can lounge on lovely beaches or take a look at Hemingway's haunts around Havana, most can't interact with everyday Cuban people. Despite relinquishing some control in the last decade, the Cuban government still does its best to separate its visitors from its citizens."
Lame. But I guess I'm just going to have to be careful...
We are flying into Mexico first since no planes leave the US destined for Cuba or visa versa. Which is awesome cause we are going to go to Cabo San Lucas. I haven't been there since I was like 7. I want to go to Lovers Beach "Playa del Amor". It's this teeny tiny little island. so pretty...
Then we are off to Cuba!!
I haven't been on an actual vacation in years. And I'm so excited I'm going with my mom...we used to travel a lot...Africa, France, Spain, Italy....It's going to be so nice to just relax and take it easy for a while. Bring some books...Old man in the sea...again...out of respect. Sipping on something fruity listening to some tunes. Yes...I knew this year had good things in store
