I hesitate to actually let these words leave my lips, because every time I voice something like this it all comes crashing the fuck down... but, I'm having a particularly lucky week. After having the car I've been working on fixing towed and impounded and basically being forced to pay to get a drivers license in a state I'm moving out of in 5 months, it looks like maybe things are turning around?
Work is batshit crazy, wooooo holidays! 50 hours last week, 50 hours this week, 50 hours next week. After that, I'm transferring to a department where I have to wear a tie. It pays more.
Through a particularly savvy set of trades, I turned my old Android smartphone into a 51 inch plasma tv. I don't have cable, so its basically playing the same shit thats been on my tivo for the last 4 months, but its very pretty.
I may have a new car on the way.. this is still very much up in the air but I've been waiting for this to happen for the entire year. for the last 12 months I've been driving a car that does not appreciate being asked to go above 35 mph. You can see how this can be a problem. If I get it, I'll find out this week. The only hangup is that it'll be in FL and I have to go get it. I dont get time off of work this time of year so I have to wait until I get 2 days off back to back and haul ass down there.
My new roommate has been okay. We basically live in our respective bedrooms. He's a bit of a slob in the kitchen and he seems very happy to wait until I ask for the rent money before he coughs it up (which I hate doing), so.. you know.. that sucks. But the extra money helps me not live on a razor thin budget. lord knows I have to save up money for a move, and this new department I'm moving to may offer relocation assistance when I get all my shit together. so there's that.
Also, seasonal workers at work. super awesome. any of the cool ones already look up to me like some sort of rebel god with all the answers. its a decidedly gigantic ego boost when I've needed it (not going to go into why, as this is supposed to be a POSITIVE post), and I forsee many late nights where I convince a group of them to go out and drink with me and pick up my tab. it doesnt hurt that in order to even the gender gap, most of our new hires are women.

OH! Before I forget.. black friday, right? Best Buy has a 42 inch LCD 1080p television for $199. If you're going to wait in line for anything, I would suggest it be that.
