Questionnaire

Sorry I've been a bit quiet. Just recovering from a cataract operation (not all that much recovering to be done, tbh - it went very smoothly) which the clinic managed to slip in just before the UK went into a more strict 'lockdown'. So now I don't need glasses except for reading, which, as I spend 99.99% of every waking moment reading something, won't make all that much difference to me, but never mind, eh?

So... the wonderful and magnificent @brunhild (if you're not following her, shame on you - there's really no excuse in our present indoors-centric world) tagged me in her questionnaire post - and she put up some interesting answers, too. Here's mine...

1. What food do you crave most often?

Chocolate.

2. Can you swim?

Not really.

3. Can you whistle?

Not really.

4. Home on a beach or in the mountains?

Mountains, definitely. I live in a seaside town. It's nice, but I love mountain country. My honeymoon was in a little Scottish village a few miles south of Fort William and every morning the scenery blew me away. Mountains for me.

5. Hotdogs or Hamburgers?

Hamburgers. I'm a sucker for mushroom and melted stilton on a burger, but I'll happily take a Whopper or a Big Mac, too. I just love burgers.

6. Shower or tub?

Tub. You can't read in the shower and the whole thing's over way too quickly.

7. How many TVs are in your house?

Too many. Actually, now that I think about it there's only three. We used to have a lot more but my eldest son moved out a year ago and one of the spare ones we had laying around broke. Three it is.

8. Do you own a gun? If yes why do you own a gun?

No. Although I wouldn't be averse to owning one, but this is the UK. Post-Dunblane, guns are not really our thing.

9. Favorite type of food?

A toss up between Chinese or Indian. I love chow mein and rogan josh respectively.

10. Favorite hobbies?

Reading, writing (my fan fiction and erotic fiction exist somewhere on the internet, but I've not done any serious writing for ages), gaming.

11. Favorite time of year?

Autumn. I'm a Ray Bradbury fan, sorry.

12. Favorite drink in the morning?

Coffee. Usually a double espresso on the way into work. When I was still going into work.

13. Favorite outdoors activities?

Walking my mother-in-law's dog, sightseeing. That sounds very boring. It kind of is. (Although the dog is rather lively...)

14. 3 Favorite drinks?

Coffee, tea, cider.

15. 3 Things I love?

Talking with my younger son about films; walking (and talking) with my wife; teaching. (I know I moan about it, but I do secretly love it. Well, not so secretly now, I guess...)

16. Do I have a crush?

No. Not really. A long-term relationship with a woman who's decided that I'm worth settling down with doesn't really count as a 'crush'. :) That said, if Wonder Woman was real, I would probably worship her.

17. 4 turn on's:

Laughter; little indicators of intimacy (a brush of a hand; the leaning of the head on a shoulder); a shapely neck and shoulder (it's always been a thing; I honestly don't know why); fierce conviction.

18. 4 turn offs:

Cruelty; vanity; being a slave to transitory fads and fashions; not being prepared to think.

19. How I feel right now:

Tired, but good. It's a weird time right now, but the pace is slower and I kind of like that. I've re-arranged my office at home, de-cluttered a bit, and generally feel a bit sharper than I was the couple of weeks before the op. So far my family are well; I'm praying things stay that way.

20. My current relationship status:

My wife and I have been married for 26 years.
