and, i sit next to a big racist butch cowgirl in my english class. if we were to engage in fisticuffs, she'd probably win, but that's beside the point. she told me that while she finds our black teacher, "amusing in the way she acts," she's, "not really into the whole black thing," in regards to us being asking us to write two short papers on the significance of dr. martin luther king, jr. day, to which i responded, "i find martin luther king day to be a refreshing change of pace from the other holidays we have in america that celebrate genocidal maniacs, like christopher columbus, or rich white men that have tried to keep minorities down, like president's day." she looked at me with a somewhat puzzled look on her face and said, "well.. i guess it's all how you look at it." i looked at her, tilted my head to the side and frowned and said, "no. not really," and walked away.


i stole the new york times from starbucks today. i'm going to have a red stripe, watch bbc world news, read the paper, and go to sleep.
