Slivers of Bliss

You came to me
like a cool breeze,
on a summer's day.
So unexpected,
but yet so welcomed.
I long to bathe in your beauty,
to soak up the gorgeous rays
of your radiant soul.
My feelings I hold inside
twinkle and spark
like little fireflies
against the black canopy of night.
I gaze into your sweet eyes,
and feel the empty void
torturing my existence
melt away to nothing more
than a few specks of dew
on the meadow of my heart.
You have quenched my thirsty soul,
just feeling your presence near
is enough to bring a smile to my face.
