i have just arrived back in the uk (its 7:30 am here) after being on a plane since 2pm british time yesterday (6am seattle time) i am unable to sleep on planes which sucks a lot, but the movies were ok, i saw the newest harry potter film which was AWESOME. i love it. i am jealous of everyone who is a child now, since there was no harry potter when i was a child.
my trip had a lot of laughs, a lot of tears, a lot of fighting with my sisters, it was good. my grandpa had five sons and one daughter, and sixteen grandchildren, fourteen of whom were there, so it was a good family thing, i got to meet two little cousins who are three and five who i've never met before who are ADORABLE.
i saw my grandpa in his coffin, he looked very peaceful, but also not like himself, i think because he didn't have his glasses on. it is a very sad thing, he was such an awesome character with so many awesome stories, but at least i know i always always appreciated him and tried to learn as much as i could from him while he was here. it was a total catholic funeral, we went and said the rosary the night before, then a funeral in a church, then an internment. although i don't really belive in god or whatever, i really love the rituals, they're very cathartic. and even though i haven't been to mass in years, i still knew and remembered all the responses and stuff. i suppose in the same way that, like it or not, i will always be american, i will also always be catholic.
its pretty awesome really, because it means as long as i repent at the last minute, i get to go to heaven!
