on the bus home my phone died and I still had 30 minutes being trapped in this double decker tin can of doom, I'd just bought some new comics so, pulls out a guardians of the Galaxy comic, I should point out I have this tendency to go off into my own little world in my head a lot, because otherwise I would have noticed the small gang of 6 year olds suddenly surrounding me and looking at me like I'm some kind of God much sooner, also they had some serious questions
"like you do realise your a grown up and a girl?" - yes I had noticed 😂
"whose your favourite Star Lord or groot" - Duh Groot (no offence to star Lord but groots my soulmate 😍)
"have you seen the films" - yes and they where awesome
at this stage two very panicked looking women appear from the top deck hurry over to my little cult ive somehow gained, apologising to me non stop.
Obviously I told them it was fine, they where just being curious creatures that children are and plus if I'm gunna be forced to talk to people on a bus, a small cult of miniature guardian of galaxy fans is definitely not so bad
Both women looked so relieved and then went on to tell me that all the kids had adhd and a couple had other conditions aswell and the one who I had noticed was clearly the little leader of this cult, it was actually his birthday, but because of how busy the city centre was with drunken people and protest marches yesterday all the boys had melt downs and episodes, and one drunk man reduced all 6 boys to tears because like with me, they curiously asked some innocent questions and now they where heading back home where they were going to let them watch marvel movies and eat pizza
now I'd like to point out I have no maternal instincts what so ever, I'm the girl who when you make her hold a baby will look at you with eyes of trauma and betrayal whilst demanding someone take the tiny wrinkly alien baby away, but also I am cool aunt Jessa 🤓 to my friends and families little monsters.
you see I'd bought a few packs of bargain comics as a little nerdy lucky dip treat, and I got 2 of the same guardians comics, and a guardians and a rocket and groot I already had soooo
I handed over the one I had and asked if he'd like to have a look, you've never known joy until you see 6 little boys with ADHD after a long day of episodes reading there first ever comic
when they where done he went to hand it back only to be given 2 more and told to enjoy his birthday and nothing makes marvel nights and pizza better than adding comic books and blanket forts and then got off at my stop
I like to think I did my nerdy good deed for the week with that one
