What a fan-fucking-tastic day. Oh, it started badly. Same old, "You guys suck and aren't getting things done" bullshit. But then, we got to vent, and oh boy did we. We let our Chief know, in no uncertain terms, what the fuck was going on and how fucked up shit was from our perspective. And he of course sided with them. It really is an us against them mentality, brought on by them, and that doesn't get things done on the flightline for long. But sitting quietly at the end of the table, listening intently, was the #2 enlisted guy in the unit. And he got it.
I found out later in the day that the same reservations and misgivings we have against our supervision are held by others in the unit, specifically our Senior (#2 guy). Turns out that my old boss had already discussed the buffoon running things with the Senior, and he has the same misgivings we do. And he's discussed these issues with the Captain and the Cheif. And he wants this guy gone. He doesn't have the Cheif convinced yet, but hopefully he will before we put a jet in the dirt or a guy in a box.
I felt about 100% better about work after the big throw down this morning. Stay tuned to see what happens.
