I work on F-15s. That's right, I'm part of the war machine, enlisted in the US Air Force for over 12 years now. Our pilots like to say that jet noise is the sound of freedom, and I suppose they're right. It is the sound of freedom for the people of Kuwait; the sound of freedom from invasion for the people of Saudi Arabia; and, believe it or not (I do), the sound of perpetual freedom on our own shores. I know, some Americans are still oppressed, but I'm on a roll, so bear with me. For those of us that work on them, it's the sound of 12 hour shifts, missed lunch breaks, lost weekends, months deployed away from home, birthdays, holidays and anniversaries missed. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of what I do, and wouldn't change one bit of my carreer, but at times it is trying. I believe that the real sound of freedom, for me, is when I leave work, thumb the starter on my Sportster, get on, and haul balls to wherever. Even if it's just home, nothing is more freeing than that for me. I love the wind in my face, the sun on my neck, even the occasional bug glancing off of my face. I don't know why I felt the need to say that, anyone that loves riding, whatever the brand or type, must feel the same way. I just felt like ranting a bit. and now my rant is done.

yeah, i usually prefer to get shit faced in the woods, a few miles from the car around a good campfire, but lala said beach and i've been grasping onto to that ever since. i am in desperate need of a vacation!
