i think this is a brilllliant move! go for it, come hell or highwater, find an entry level IT job and take it! this career change is gonna make you a happy man. put all your energies into it and make it happen!
i wish i knew of someone who was hiring, but honestly, now that you're opening yourself up to relocating i believe if you really look, you'll defnitely find something.
