What a shitty shitty day...

got to work and a transformer blew up outside the building forcing me to spend the rest of the day under "emergency power", which meant only 1 working elevator out of 7 (the service elevator, too), no light in the office, and really fucking creepy hallways.

then one of our dedicated servers gets hacked. aparently not just by one person, but by THREE! At least there were attempts all day long from 3 different countries using very different techniques and tools. Ended up having 2 completely different rootkits installed, which partially conflicted (another reason why I think at least 2 different people got in on the same day).

I'm trying to copy the data off and the fucking hardware fails so I have to go downstairs to the datacenter to fix the old hardware so that I can get the new stuff up and running. All in all, it takes 3 or so hours.

Then amazingly, I get relieved early so I can go home at 11:30...only to realize I got in an hour early, so my getting off early really only means that I'm leaving half an hour late still.

On my way home, I realize that I haven't eaten a damn thing all day. Fuck you, Friday.
