TATTOO journey--part 2

April 8 and it's getting to be time to leave to see Jen. Carrie's over to take care of the house, so today i am going solo.
No pain pills, but i did take time to eat a bean burrito and quesadilla in some irrational attempt at diverting blood from my back and into my stomach. I pulled up to her place at noon and let myself in; her work room was tidy, well lit and smelled of peppermint, lavender and sweet orange. Mantras and etherial music played in the background...it was a peaceful scene. I love watching her mix colors like a wizened alchemist. I love more the big red tool chest that carries all her things...i dunno--makes me smile to read all the stickers on it.

*some photos--not as many this time as i didn't have a designated photographer.

Here's Jennifer Schichi--note how happy she looks knowing she's going to make me cry--heh wink

I love watching her mix color

the magic tool chest

this is where i had her stop...She was at the little blue hearts on the yellow field got to be too painful. We'll start there next time.

to be truthful, as she started my heart sank a little, mostly becasue my body just remembered the last time, but i just worked harder on telling myself that "there is no heat, there is no pain, only beautiful color remains" and just let that me my mantra the next couple hours.
I'm proud of myself. I was much more mentally prepared this time. I think the complete shock of last outing wore off leaving me with a much more realistic idea of pain levels (having my period last time made it much harder as well). The pain was completely tolerable and i had a much better mental focus. Having a shorter session also helped. So i go back again in a couple weeks. yeeha! smile
