Spent New Year's having a mellow dinner at home. Jima worked late and didn't feel like going out. We watched Pirates of the Carribean again. I can't get over J.Dep and the whole pirate thing. He looked great in dreds and a bandanna. He just made pirates sexy again--just wait, there's going to be a pirate resurgence the likes we haven't seen since Adam and the Ants...I can't wait. It's the Eighty's Plus One (little Haircut 100 reference).

I spoke to a friend on New Year's eve. Hadn't spoken for months, so playing a little catch up before the new Year began was nice. Everyone has been heading in different directions, so it's quite the effort to track folks down and tell them what they've meant to you this year.

Resolutions? Not many since I don't like to lie to myself. Just the basics: Do a good job at all I try, be on time, eat healthier, smoke less, take responsibility for all things in my care and to not take myself so seriously.

Goals? There are many. I want to develop a side company, retail. I want to do an excellent job at Opera. I want to plant and landscape my backyard. Now that the playset is gone, we have a place to plant all the fruit trees. By the way--don't plant your orange and lemon trees near each other (and I mean more than 30 feet apart)...Neither fruit tastes good as they cross pollenate and all you get are small sour oranges and funky lemons.

Predictions? GoodBye Sheep Year--you've kicked my ass hard and I'm glad I won't see you for 12 years! The year of the Monkey is upon us, so a year of fun and socializing. Attention needed in the areas of business and finance. Try not to be wasteful. While things will not center around the home, it's important to have a comfortable place to think away the world. Let home be a sanctuary--and fill it with love, cause the world's gonna be a trip this year.

(LET ME SAY THESE ARE MY OPINIONS and GUT FEELINGS-I neither offer myself up as, or am, a financial planner. This is just what i believe and I tend to take my own advice.)

In economics-the "fake" recession is over and as people's attitudes improve, we'll be seeing large increases in the stock market, retail and manufacturing. Industry, especially those that have to do with building--big improvement. Land machines, like CAT and BoBCat machines, landgrading, filling etc--all will be in high demand because of the construction increases. It's not necessarily local construction--but the overseas market that will generate most demand. Unfortunately-the disasters of the world will cause demand in this area as well.

California-housing will continue to be a leading factor in growth as well as all trickle down from the entertainment industry. The gap between haves and have-nots will increase (Esp in OC). The gaps in education between the fortunate and less fortunate will cause friction.

Rich people think hard work makes you rich. Poor people think it's education. It's some of both--but not necessarily either, because you can mangage on luck on fortitude.

It's all perception people--it's smoke and mirrors and perception--change yours and change your entire WORLD. Have fun and be blessed.

The best news of this year so far? There's a company I've watched for a while now, and who is working on an AIDS VACCINE-That's right people--after 23 years of scourge--a Vaccine. The outlook from previous testing has been great, as far as I know; tests are in Europe and not here, if I rememebr correctly. It's looking more and more promising.

Kick ass and get out there and SHINE!

"My attorney advises against it..." hehe. We're watching "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" right now. I have pics on my photo* storage site. I really want to be behind a camera.
