I've seen a few people post their Facebook status about how effed up America is and how we had the fundraiser for Haiti on 12 stations, but we can't take care of our own homeless children, vetrans... etc. I've acknowledged these factors everyone has copy and pasted. I agree that we should help our veterans a lot more and that we should do more to help the Homeless... (though how much can you do when some people are barely getting by because they have no job....) I wonder why people are so enthusiastic to adopt a 4 or 5 year old from Haiti but if it were an American child, they'd be looked past because couples adopting woudl rather have a infant.
But beyond all these factors, has anyone thought about the fact that New Orleans still hasn't been restored? They raised more money for another country than they did for our own community. The US sent out troops and services faster for Haitit than they did when people were sitting in disgusting waters. And then to think that our soldiers were wading through those disgusting waters, waste deep in sewage and other sickly things.... And now they're in Haiti with little food and water... but that's a completely different subject
So my question is, what is going to happen with the San Andreas Falut breaks and the minimum 7.5 mag earthquake rock So Cal? I'm 15 miles from that fault line. Are all those celebrities going to help me when all the houses and buildings are demolished? Hell no! They'll be in the same damn boat as me. I'll save my money for my own ass when an earthquake takes everything I have. Yeah, it's selfish but it's also a hell of a lot more logical in my mind.
