I haven't updated here in what seems like an age. Things have been super-super-busy, mostly in a good way although recently in a bad way as my landlady has given me until next friday to move out and I am frantically trying to find somewhere to live that isn't the size of a matchbox and doesn't have bedbugs. Aughhh!! I can understand the landlay as I've alredy overstayed my notice by a week or so, but she had kindof given me the impression I could stay on for a bit and now she's sort of sprung it on me and I'm all a-fluster. I've had o take 2 extra days off work to keep looking, which I can ill afford right now. I have a place to see this afternoon and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. I'll probably take it even if it's not so great just for the peace of mind knowing that I won't be homeless next week.
I had a quiet and uneventful Christmas with the Mister, and that's how I like it. After all the stress and drama of the previous year it was great to finish the year on a peaceful note - hopefully it is the shape of things to come. I spent New Years at Tortue garden with Vaidas, Elf, and Fabio, and although it wasn't a messy night for me (for a change) it was good to spend it with people that are important to me and also catch up with people I hadn't seen for what seems like eternity.
A year and a half ago after finishing Japanese uni I worked in Japan for 2 momths in a kimono store amongst other places and during that time I did a 2 week homestay with one of the loveliest couples I've ever met. I was so sad when i had to leave their flat and move into this private bedsit place that I cried. Anyway last week they were in London for 4 days and I caught up with them. I was feeling like I'd forgotten all my Japanese due to not really having a chance to utilise it this past year but it came back quite quickly for the most part, although I'd forgotten the words for the days of the week.
In other news, I will be travelling to Lithuania at the end of the month for one weekend to watch the boy compete in the Lithuanian Freestyle Dance Championships. I'm really excited but also a little nervous as it will mean meeting his Dad for the first time. We're going to stay in a hotel. Dirty weekend WOOOOOOO!!!! Sadly the week before though it's time for me to say goodbye to my much-loved hair extensions as I give my poor hair a well-needed break.
later I have a place to view so fingers crossed - now it's time for coffee.....
