She lives!!! I feel like it`s been since forever since I updated on here. there`s been soooo much going on of late, first all of it bad, and now all of it fantastic in that `not enough hours in the day` sort of way. These last few weeks I`ve felt like my feet have barely touched the ground. It`s so bizarre how things can all of a sudden take such a huge and unexpected turnaround.
Well on the home front, things are amicable, and going well in a bizarre sort of arrangement. We still get along very well, and so we are still sharing the flat at least until we can save enough money to move our own separate ways in a couple of months` time. We`re applying for the divorce papers, but in a way it doesn`t seems so sad, like we`ve had a go, it didn`t work out, and now it`s time to move on. I`m sure we`ll always be the best of friends, but this way I`m sure we`ll both be happier. He stays at his girlfriend`s quite a lot and so I have this enourmous fabulous flat pretty much to myself. I`m supposed to be advertising for new flatmates, but I haven`t quite gotten round to it yet.
In other news, what I thought originally was a bit of a girly crush on my part, has developed into something more than lovely with someone who treats me like the Queen - just exactly what I need after what could win a prize for Shittiest Year Evah!! In the last month I`ve discovered new parts of London, discovered new and interesting food, discovered that I deserved better than what I was making do with.
The view from the top of a hill in Docklands where we went off on a whim and clambered up through all this undergrowth on an industrial estate to see the whole of Docklands all lit up. Clear skies, starry eyes.
I`m all about urban landscapes at the moment. In particular I`m loving the insides of all these new-ish stations on the Jubilee Line extension, I think it`s because they all remind me of Bladerunner.
Last week I ate some `Hot Spicy Pork`s Ears`, a Lithuanian snack meant to be eaten with beer. I thought they would be all good in the same way that pork scratchings are, but they were like actual pointed slices of ear. I gave it a go because I thought I may be missing out on some kind of culinary delicacy but no, the consistency was just like chewing on a bit of semi-raw ear. Never again.
