i fell asleep on my laptop last night...oops.
at least i was 16 pages in. i am at school finishing it up. apparently, i don't have class til 2pm today so i've been typing like a fiend. thank god i was super-organized w/ my notes b/c i typed 4 pages (1.5 space) in an hour. i just have one more section and my conclusion...and i am already past 20 pages.
i never worry about hitting page length.
it's mid-march and i am wearing a wifebeater, just thought i would share.
and i need a haircut...bad.
what else do i need? a new MP3 player...yea. i keep buying cheap ones and well, they are cheap, and they break and drive me crazy. i'd like to throw it against the wall and watch it smash into teeeeny tinnny pieces but alas, i need it b/c i walk a lot and i can't afford a new one. if i could, i'd actually buy a decent one that hold more than a gig and is NOT battery-powered.
my friend who is making aliyah (moving to sirael) april 5th called me last night because he is nervous and whatnot b/c he is pretty much selling his entire life and moving here w/ all he owns in 3 suitcases. so, obviously, he'd be nervous. and unfortunately, he comes from parents who aren't supportive at all in his decision and have often threatened him w/ disowning him and whatnot. it's sad when parents don't support their children in what they do. he is just nervous so we were on the phone for a long tie and i told him that i was "adopting" him into my family and as "israeli family" i would make sure that he would be taken care of.
no one should have to move to a country on their own w/ no support w/in the country.
i know, that was me over 3 years ago.
my parents supported my decision, hell, they are the ones that showed it to me, but they were still in the US at the time and i didn't have anyone here. thank god i found my best friend/big sister, miriam, a fellow US ex-pat, she has become my family. even w/ my parents here now, they know she is part of my family.
i need a vacation...bad.
i don't think i've had one really since school started and i am going batty w/ straight work and school. i mean, yea, i know how this goes, i support myself completely (though my parents live here, they don't foot any of my bills, in fact, i owe my dad 2000nis...you do the math but right now, it's 4nis to 1usd) and yea...this has to be my life for now i guess. i go to school full time, work 30 hours and have a second job as a TA. that's why i really enjoy weekends when joual is home and i go to tel aviv. it just feels as though i get to get away from all that is bothering me for a little bit. and of course, i get to see the boy. always a plus. he is home this weekend and then after that, he won't be home for about a month. killer. but i am going to be non-procrastination like and use the time to get shit done.
promise.
cross my heart.
i am going to attempt chicken curry friday - we shall see how that goes.
and maybe, i won't be a forgetful individual and take a camera or something along w/ me so you can see my silly mug.
3 years here...still don't get israeli "fashion" - just thought i'd mention that.
give me tanktop and jeans any day.
i have come to the conclusion that when i hang out w/ english people for an extended period of time, i start picking up their accent.
so instead of a screwy long-island/brooklyn hybrid, let's just make it even more fucked and add british nuances.
seeeeexy.
if you can understand me that is.
okay, well, i have to go back to work before i have to go to class and try to pay attention and write at the same time.
and as we all know, JB suffers from massive ADD.
tee hee hee.
