Had an eventful week. First my water heater pilot light went out and it would stay lit. That happened on Sunday and I was without hot water until Tuesday. Not too long I know, but I just physically can't stand cold showers. I can't breathe when the water hits me. I do vastly appreciate hot water more now however.
Then last night, or I should say early this morning, the cheap floor lamp I had bought maybe two years ago broke. The switch is just a bored out piece of plastic screwed onto the switch and the groves finally got stripped inside the plastic and it wouldn't turn anymore. I didn't bother trying to fix it last night, I was just too tired and decided to let it wait until morning. When I unscrewed the frosted plastic shade it was cracking around the base and when I braced it against my thumb and finger that part just snapped off in my hand. Then when I carried it to the trash can to shake out the dead little flies the base just fell off and shattered when it hit the floor. I was stunned that it would do that so easily. Once I realized what the problem was and it couldn't be fixed I just chucked in the bin outside my apartment and the rest of the shade, which was a lot of it left, snapped again between my fingers and hit the concrete and shattered into about 40 pieces. I went to Target to get a new one and decided to spend a little more on a model so it will last longer. The new one cost me $60 and I think the old one didn't cost anymore than $30 so I should get a few more years out of it hopefully.
It wasn't all bad though, I was driving back from Delaware and the torrential rain was finally passing after I got out of the Wawa and as I was driving towards the bridge I saw a couple huge rainbows. After I crossed the bridge the sun was coming from my left and the spray from the car on my right made a little rainbow that ended right in the middle of my car's hood. For a few minutes I WAS THE END OF THE RAINBOW. So for that the World can suck it.
Oh and it's my birthday tomorrow, kind of a downer thought since it falls on Father's Day. My father passed away 21 years ago last month. I'm not going to let it get me down though, I have a lot of good memories of him even though I was only 14 when it happened. But that's life, I think a little "herbal" treatment and maybe some internet porn should put me in a good mood.
Peace, and I hope I didn't bring anyone down with that last paragraph. To end on a good note enjoy the following pics. If you're a gamer you'll appreciate them

And we've been having water heater troubles lately, too! Sucks to be without hot water, eh?
