I was lucky enough to go a few years ago when Don Mclean was there. Hearing him play American Pie from that stage was one of the most amazing things I've experienced. There wasn't a dry eye in the house, and he said he was really feeling ghosts.
I think Holly's music has a timeless quality that stands the test of time as good as any from that era.
