ahhh, oscar season. last friday i saw million $ baby and the aviator. million is powerful and thoughtful and depressing while the aviator was inspiring and beautiful. i would rather see the aviator again and i hope scorcese wins best director if not best picture. but jamie fox , i believe is the hands down favorite to win best actor. leo was good and believable but jamie was transcendent....eastwood: eh! he was ok...depp: could be the spoiler. i haven't seen neverland....cheadle: spoiler #2...he should already have an oscar and so should depp.
hilary swank, i hope she wins...she is a very inspiring person...yeah i think she's sexy, too but i saw a profile of her on 60 minutes and she has that true rags to- more- fame -than- riches- at- first kind of story. you gotta love her.
morgan freeman....gotta win. they better not give this to jamie foxx.

as for micheal moore, his ego is almost as fat as his ass. great movie but, come on mike....best picture!!
and the passion of the christ....i went into that movie numb becuz i read alot of the preamble from the previous year and the months leading up to the release . i had arguments with my brother and his wife who are both "born again"....when i finally saw the movie, i felt like i had removed something from my brain...it wasn't a religious experience. cinematically...mel gibson knows his way around a movie set, a story, emotion, and violence....this movie had as much violence as kill bill 1 or better yet robocop. the violence wasn't a big deal and there was no way around it.....was mel gibson robbed of an oscar nomination? i don't think so. i think mel himself said that he didn't think he would get one. but, waht i await is his next starring role...and i'll be there. i read a story in EW where an anonymous producer said he would not work with gibson ever again--pretty fuckin' sad statement.

I can't say that I have seen any of the other best pic nominations but I have heard great things about the aviator and million $ baby. And although I loves Shrek 2, the Incredibles was so amazing.
