I haven't written a blog post on SG in many years, but I have become very active on other social media sites so I thought that I might as well write some comments here as well. I changed my profile photo to one of my most recent political shirts that I shared on other sites. I have become quite political since November 9, 2016, as have many in the U.S. One of the ways I am getting across my messages is through political t-shirts. I will start sharing some of them here as well, but if want to see all of them sooner, my Instagram is the easiest place to find them (jeff_parris_1).
Since this administration started in early 2017, many states have been trying to pass laws that are intended to control women. The ACLU has been fighting each law and has stopped the laws from taking effect in seven different states so far, but another problem is that this administration has also stacked the Supreme Court with the most conservative lean during my lifetime. I strongly believe the best course of action is to support as many candidates at the state level that fully believe in a woman's right to bodily autonomy. I strongly believe the best person to make reproductive health care decisions is the woman making the decision in consultation with whoever she wants to consult. The decision should never be made by any state legislative body. I feel that we need to support these candidates and we need to turn every state house and senate to a more liberal majority so the states will stop trying to pass laws that are only designed to control women.
So, my current profile picture states that I am #ProWomen & #ProChoice and I will continue to fight for a woman's right to bodily autonomy!
