hell yeah, grave of fireflies is one of my favorite animated movies. i think that studio ghibli and miyazaki put out the best anime films. did you see miyazakis new film spirited away? its pretty sweet...it comes out on dvd in september i think.

today i went to the beach and sat on a log with my great friend amazon and watched waves break on the horizon and drank beer. we made friends with a bunch of canines, and acquaintances with their owners. we squelched our toes in the sand. we skipped stones and rode bicycles, and got stupid together. could anything be better?

rock climbing at rattlesnake point was pretty incredible yesterday. i was a bit timid to begin, hopping from flat boulder to flat boulder. but before long all three of us were climbing down crevasses and scaling the 50-foot cliffs and rock piles. great fun! if only there weren't so many smashed beer bottles. damned yokel kids.

stilts are fun. i learned stilt-walking in a circus sideshow 101 class i took at San Francisco School of Circus Arts. Learned all sorts of other fun stuff, too: glass eating, getting out of a straight jacket, fire eating, fire breathing, juggling.
how long have you been doing poi? i just made myself a pair of short staffs to start practicing double staff.

It's a grey area for me-- pets? sure. food? if you're down. entertainers? i only wish that on those that actually crave celebrity. animals never wanna be famous, so why do you make them perform?
