So the other day my mum and I were talking and she asked me why girls get so upset when someone calls them fat because she dont get upset when peolple call her thin.
On the surface, this is a very simple statement but it really got me thinking.
Why is it so wrong to be fat?
People are different. Fat is a simply statement of fact. If youre fat, youre fat. If youre thin, youre thin. So whats with all these negative connotations? Who exactly decided that thin is in? Because, personally, I dont see whats so great about being thin. I dont see how its added or detracted from my life in any way. Say I suddenly put on a couple hundred pounds. Would I overnight just become a different person? Would my fundemental makeup change in any way? The answer is just as simple as the question. No.
People are people. Our weight shouldnt, and doesnt, make us who we are. Its a persons character that makes them unique and special, not a scale reading.
So thats my pearl of wisdom for the day. Love yourself exactly the way you are. Fuck what other people say or think. Though I guess Im preaching to the choir here. Every girl on this site is unique. We are a collection of over 2 000 reasons why mainstream beauty is deluded. Thats why I love SuicideGirls so much. So lets inspire change. This constant fixation on body image is getting kinda old.

Am I the only one who feels pressure to be perfect?
I get these girls telling me how much they look up to me and how much they wish they could be like me and what I tell them is: Dont be like me. Be better.
Be the best version of yourself. Dont try to emulate someone else. Think about it, everyone you wanna be like isnt trying to be like someone else. Theyre just being who they are. Thats what makes them so noteworthy. If you live your life trying to be just like someone you look up to then youll never be anything more than a cheap imitation.
