I am a useless blogger. I just don't much feel like ever writing in this thing. Meh, let's get some very brief retrospective thoughts down here.
Veronica Mars: 8/10. Unfair to judge it yet as I am still not quite done the series. Update soon.
Clive Barker - Mister B. Gone: 7/10.
Douglas Adams - Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency: 7/10. The title character just took too long to enter the scene. He was a great character, I just didn't much care about the rest of them. Looking forward to the next one.
John W. Campbell - Who Goes There?: 7/10. Good story, I am just too big a fan of the John Carpenter film. Nice to read it, but it didn't really show me anything special.
Joseph Conrad - Heart of Darkness: 9/10.
Philip K Dick - the Man in the High Castle: 8/10. Reread. A little uncertain here. Dick tends to cut his stories short, so the narrative drops off prematurely, leaving the reader to pick up the pieces and create a full thematic arc. Love this one, but I think both ends drop out here and it really leaves you hanging.
Philip K Dick - the Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch: 6/10. Not my favourite here. I find Dick a difficult author to get into. Every one of his books has a portion of time wherein I can't quite get myself into his world. Eventually, though, it clicks and I fall in love with the story. This one just came in too late.
Philip K Dick - Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep: 10/10. Reread. Nothing to say. My favourite book.
Philip K Dick - Ubik: 8/10. Pretty late click here too. Better novel though, in comparison to Stigmata.
Neil Gaiman - Anansi Boys: 7/10.
Neil Gaiman - Good Omens: 8/10.
Neil Gaiman and Michael Reaves - Interworld: 7/10
Neil Gaiman - the Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish: 9/10
Neal Stephenson - the Diamond Age: 8/10
Donald Tyson - Necronomicon: 6/10
H.G. Wells - the War of the Worlds: 7/10
Gears of War: 8/10
Blade Runner Final Cut: 10/10
the Prisoner: 8/10
Justice League/Unlimited: 8/10
Futurama Bender's Big Score: 8/10
Assault on Precinct 13: 7/10
Prince of Darkness: 6/10
Escape From L.A.: 6/10
They Live: 4/10
Big Trouble in Little China: 6/10
Starman: 7/10
Halloween: 8/10
the Day the Earth Stood Still: 8/10
Etc.
No genuine thoughts, just numbers.
