Third post today. wow. This time I am here to review the pilot for Burn Notice. I am very pleasently surprised. It was a little too long for its own good, but it introduced several interesting characters and a mystery which promises development, which is very important to me in a tv show. I watched it specifically for Bruce Campbell, and he was good, but it was not good because of him which impressed me. The amazing new show for me last year was Dexter (I am very excited for a new season, by the way). Burn Notice feels a great deal like a comedic version of Dexter. There are large differences. However, they share a setting. They share an actor. And they are both stories about intelliegent characters who pretend to live normal lives while manipulating those aroud them, only to find out that they are in turn being manipulated. Now in Burn Notice, he is pretty honest about the fact that he is a spy, so he's not really pretending to be normal, but he has been forced into a crappy home where he deals with his family problems, helps out neighbourhood children, etc. I;'m not claiming it to be the most original show out there, but it is different from the usual fare, and has enough promise to continue watching. And it has Bruce Campbell.
