So last night I was scheduled to work for a CD release party and show. It made the night alot better. I found out what I was missing at bars up here. Good local shows. It sucks going out to a bar where everyone is there to just get hammered or fucked. And I absolutely hate listening to all of the coverbands, premixed overhead music or dj's playing top 40 shit. That's Alaska for ya. I noticed that at local shows you get far less of a drunk asshole factor. And most of the people there are there to watch the show and are all friends anyways. Their intentions arent to get fucked or fucked up. And its nice to be around people who you recognize and like. A bunch of strangers getting fucked up is better for a festival, mardi gras, or a huge event. The only way I like that environment is at electronic festivals and parties where there is a good vibe. But that goes back to the intention factor. Most people at those events are there for the music and dancing. And most choose drugs over drinking. The fratboys, tough guys, and GQ dirty dick dudes make me fucking sick,,, as does the barfly money/freedrink ho throwing herself at any dick pointing in her direction.
It's a gross environment and vibe. I have never been into it, and working at a bar for the last 4 years makes me hate it more.
I do think that the local shows and raves will bring me back into going out. I cant wait to live in Portland for that option alone. The opportunity to see alot of shows is great. Im going to be so happy there. I've been about music and skateboarding since I was 7. I had mixed tapes, a breakdance mat, and a veriflex barbed wire board while other kids were playing on the playground. My brother and myself have allways had a passion for those two things. I dunno, maybe it runs in the family. We've always wanted to be about those two things, and that still has never changed. That makes me happy
Well off to downloading more songs. Until then
