The first season of HBO’s adaptation of Philip Pullman’s fantasy trilogy “His Dark Materials” is a fantastic time.
Season 1 is based on the first book, “the Golden Compass,” as well as setting up and starting the first chapters of the second book in the trilogy, “the Subtle Knife.”
The cast is amazing, the set pieces and locations are beautiful, and the themes will be forever relevant.
I highly recommend it, and will also go as far to say that in a lot of ways, this adaptation exceeds the books; especially when it comes to writing and pacing.
Definitely looking forward to season 2.
